A unique chance to connect across borders

Young climate activists from across Europe will meet in Copenhagen on the 9th of June, where we will kick off the experience together and get to know each other.
On the 10th of June, we travel together by bus and ferry to the island of Bornholm. During this ‘Journey Towards Change’, we will host small interactive workshops and conversations to explore future climate scenarios, exchange experiences from our different countries, and set the scene for our participation in Folkemødet.

From the 11th to 13th of June, we will take part in Folkemødet in Allinge, Denmark’s annual democracy festival, where civil society, activists, politicians and citizens gather for debates, discussions, music, happenings and creative events. Together, we will contribute to conversations on climate justice, imagine more just and sustainable futures, and strengthen connections among climate-engaged youth across Europe.

Living together at Folkemødet

During our stay in Bornholm, you will live in Camp Ung Agenda, a campsite for and by young people close to the festival in Allinge.

  • Accommodation will be in small camping huts
  • Each participant will share a 2-person hut with one buddy from the project
  • The huts have beds, lights, and electrical plug-in for charging
  • The camp site has access to showers and bathroom facilities
  • Camping conditions are simple and part of the festival experience

This is a chance to experience both the political and the social side of the festival.

Themes we will explore

Throughout the week, we will reflect on questions such as:

  • What does a just climate future look like across different European contexts?
  • How can young people shape political conversations on climate justice?
  • How do we build stronger cross-border networks for climate action?
  • What futures are we fighting for, for ourselves and for the generations that follow?

Activities will include debates, workshops, creative exercises, collective reflections and participation in public events at Folkemødet. Further, there will be lots of time to explore the rest of the festival events.
