Oxfam Denmark and Danida: A Strategic Partnership for Global Impact

Oxfam Denmark has been a strategic partner of Danida, Denmark’s development cooperation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for over 30 years. This long-standing partnership is built around shared priorities: Fighting poverty, fostering sustainable growth and stability, and promoting equal rights and opportunities across developing countries.

Together, we work through both long-term development programming and emergency response, anchored in a strategic cooperation agreement. For the 2022–2026 period, our partnership includes earmarked grants (detailed below) and strategic dialogue on key issues such as local civil society partnerships, the role of women and youth in peacebuilding, responsible taxation, and coordination between Danish NGOs, embassies, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Strategic Partnership 2022–2026

As part of the new funding cycle, Oxfam Denmark has entered into a four-year strategic partnership agreement with Danida, continuing the work from the 2018–2021 cycle. The agreement provides an annual grant of 103 million DKK, enabling Oxfam Denmark to support programmes in 12 countries:

Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Niger, South Sudan, Uganda, Syria (incl. neighbouring Lebanon), Palestine, Yemen, Guatemala, and Colombia

Our work aligns with Danida’s strategic focus areas:

  • Human rights and democratic values
  • Fragile contexts and displacement
  • Climate and green solutions

Throughout all engagements, Oxfam Denmark prioritises gender justice, youth inclusion, and environmentally sustainable approaches.
