Start your own fundraiser with Oxfam Denmark

Do you believe that everyone has the right to a life free from poverty, discrimination, and inequality? Then you can make a real difference by starting your own fundraiser in support of Oxfam Denmark’s work.

When you create a personal fundraiser, you send a powerful message: You refuse to accept a world where the richest keep getting richer while millions of people struggle to access basic rights like food, clean water, and education. Your support helps drive lasting change and brings hope to people living in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.

Where does the money go?

Whether you’re fundraising for a birthday, a wedding, a special occasion — or simply because you care — your contribution goes directly to our efforts to fight poverty, advance gender equality, and promote global social justice.

Everyone deserves an equal and just future. Thank you for choosing to support our mission. We wish you the best of luck with your fundraiser!

Tips and Tricks for Your Fundraiser

Not sure how to get the most out of your personal fundraiser with Oxfam Denmark? Read on for helpful advice on how to reach a wider audience, target your message, and connect with the right supporters.

  • Spread the word far and wide
Use social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or X (formerly Twitter) to share your fundraiser. Keep your network updated as the campaign progresses. Once you’ve received a few donations, let people know you’re off to a good start — it motivates others to join in.
  • Start with your own donation
By making the first contribution yourself, you show commitment and encourage others to follow your lead. It sends a strong, positive signal to your network.
  • Share your “why”
It may sound simple, but clearly explaining why you’re fundraising makes a big difference. Why is this cause important to you? Is there something unique about how you’re raising funds?
  • Activate your network
Get your friends, family, and colleagues involved. Ask them for ideas on how to make the campaign more engaging. Encourage them to share your fundraiser — it helps spread the message and attract more donors.
  • Make it fun to give
Add an extra incentive: offer to treat donors to coffee, take on a challenge if you reach your goal, or get your employer to match donations. Making it engaging boosts visibility and donations.
  • Share multiple times
Don’t just post once — keep sharing your fundraiser across platforms. Here’s a suggestion you can personalize:

“Dear friends, family, and colleagues:

I’ve started a fundraiser for Oxfam Denmark because it’s a cause I care deeply about. Any contribution, big or small, makes a difference. You can support my fundraiser here: [insert link].”

Good luck — and thank you for standing up against inequality!
