United Against Inequality and Injustice

The world is full of people with talent, drive, and dreams. Yet extreme inequality continues to trap far too many in poverty, denying them a fair chance at a better future. At Oxfam Denmark, we work every day to reduce that inequality and promote a more just, equal, and sustainable world.

Tackling Root Causes of Inequality

Our efforts focus on addressing the systemic barriers that keep people in poverty. We advocate for:

• The right to quality education for all – because education empowers individuals and strengthens communities.
• Fairer distribution of global wealth – to ensure that economic growth benefits the many, not just the few.
• Climate justice and sustainable development – so that the global response to the climate crisis protects the most vulnerable and secures long-term solutions for people and planet alike.

We are also present on the ground during crises, delivering life-saving humanitarian aid to those affected by war and natural disasters.

Local Solutions to Global Crises

In countries like Guatemala, Oxfam Denmark and our local partners are supporting communities on the frontline of the climate crisis.

For example, Consuelo Gutierrez, a 39-year-old single mother of five, tends her garden in Jocotán, Chiquimula. With support from Oxfam’s partners Corazón de Maíz and ASEDECHI, drought-resilient crops, sustainable farming methods, and alternative income strategies are being introduced to help families in the dry corridor adapt to a changing climate and secure their livelihoods.

We see it as a core part of our mission to bring together the many people in Denmark who want to make a difference. Through activism, donations, education, and awareness campaigns, our supporters are helping to shape a more compassionate and equitable world.

Educating the Next Generation

We also take our responsibility seriously when it comes to equipping future generations with knowledge and critical thinking. That’s why we create high-quality educational materials that help children and young people in Denmark better understand the world they live in—and their power to change it for the better.
