Learning Note: Climate Education and Young People’s Activism for Climate Justice

This learning note presents key insights and experiences from a project on climate education and young people’s activism for climate justice. The project was carried out by Oxfam Denmark in collaboration with three Danish organisations and partners in eleven African countries.

The learning note brings together learning from a two-year process involving webinars, workshops and joint reflection, where young people, educators and civil society actors have shared knowledge, methods and practices from their work to strengthen climate awareness and youth agency.

The focus has been on developing and enhancing the participating organisations’ and partners’ approaches and capacities to work strategically and programmatically with climate education and climate activism.

In addition, the learning note presents concrete learning products – including a digital platform and toolbox – as well as recommendations for organisations seeking to empower youth as key actors in climate justice efforts.
