The Organization

The highest authority in Oxfam Denmark is the Board of Directors. The Board approves the annual activities and budget and maintains close dialogue with the management. It is also involved in the recruitment of Oxfam Denmark’s executive leadership.

Once a year, we hold a general assembly, where you, as a member, can help influence how we work in the future. It is at the general assembly that the Board is elected, and where changes to our statutes can be made.

Oxfam Denmark is also part of the global Oxfam confederation – a movement of people who contribute their time, energy, and resources and truly believe that the world can be different.

The Board of Directors of Oxfam Denmark

Oxfam Denmark is a membership-based democratic organization, and the Board is therefore elected by the members at the annual General Assembly.

The Board consists of up to 11 members. Nine are elected by the General Assembly, one member is elected by the staff, and the Board has the option to appoint one additional member.

Board members are elected on a rolling basis for three-year terms.

The Board is led by a Chair and a Vice Chair, who together coordinate the Board’s work and serve as the primary point of contact with the Secretary General. The Chair and Vice Chair receive an honorarium, while the other Board members serve on a voluntary basis.

Oxfam Denmark’s new Board was constituted on 3 December 2024.
