Events

Oxfam Denmark arranges a wide range of events designed to inform, engage, and mobilize people around issues of global justice. At the core are outreach and educational events such as debates, workshops and lectures where Oxfam Denmark presents global issues like inequality, climate justice, humanitarian crises, and fair education. These events are often interactive and tailored to the audience, encouraging critical thinking and inspiring action.

Oxfam Denmark hosts or participates in policy forums, conferences, and advocacy events aimed at influencing political agendas. These events bring together partners, experts, and decision-makers to discuss sustainable solutions and strengthen civil society voices.

Oxfam Denmark Morning Brief

Morning Briefs are Oxfam Denmark’s platform for highlighting the most urgent global issues – climate, inequality, education, and more. Through panel discussions, data insights, and networking opportunities, Oxfam bridges the gap between knowledge, political action, and public engagement.

Morning Briefs are a series of events where participants are invited to start their day with coffee, croissants, and insightful presentations and debates on pressing global topics. In short: An informative and inspiring morning where Oxfam Denmark’s latest reports and analyses are presented and discussed. The aim is to spark reflection and action among politicians, civil society representatives, activists, and the broader public.

Previous Topics and Programmes

Education: The Best Investment the World Isn’t Making

At one Morning Brief, Oxfam Denmark presented its latest education report, arguing that the world is not investing enough in education – even where the need is greatest. Speakers included Jacob Blasius, Danish Youth Delegate to the UN and advisor at GSF, and Christian Friis Bach, Member of Parliament for the Social Liberal Party.

The debate focused on how all children and young people around the world can gain access to quality education.

Climate Justice: A Planet for the 99%

Another Morning Brief focused on climate inequality and the launch of Oxfam’s latest climate report. The event addressed the global imbalance – the wealthiest emit far more CO₂, while the poorest suffer the most. With COP28 approaching, the session explored how politicians and civil society can work toward fair climate policy.

Inequality Report Launch

Morning Brief has also served as the launchpad for Oxfam Denmark’s annual inequality report. The organization presents and discusses data on economic inequality and its consequences – always featuring a panel of relevant experts and stakeholders.

What is the Purpose of Morning Briefs?

  • Information and Knowledge Sharing: A platform for Oxfam’s latest research, reports, and analyses on crises, education, climate, and inequality.
  • Dialogue and Engagement: Panel discussions and participation from politicians, professionals, and civil society actors create space for direct dialogue and networking.
  • Mobilization: Increases awareness and commitment to key issues – often with a call to action for participants, decision-makers, and the public.
  • Presence in Denmark: While Oxfam is rooted in international networks, Morning Briefs serve as a way to bring global issues closer to the Danish public.

How Often Are Oxfam Denmark Morning Briefs Held?

Oxfam Denmark organizes Morning Briefs regularly, typically aligned with the launch of new reports or key political moments. Several events may take place each year, depending on current topics and major events such as COP summits, report publications, or political deadlines.
