Board of trustess

Oxfam Denmark is a member-democratic organization, and the board is elected by the members at the annual general meeting.

The board consists of up to 11 members. The 9 members are elected by the general assembly, 1 member is elected by the employees and the board has the option to appoint a member. Board members are elected staggered and for three years at a time.

The board is led by a chairperson and a deputy chairperson, who together coordinate the board's work and have the primary contact to the general secretary. The chairperson receives an honorarium, while the other board members work voluntarily.

Oxfam Denmark's new board was constituted on 13 December 2023.

The tasks of the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is Oxfam Denmark's political leadership and is responsible for ensuring that Oxfam Denmark is managed in accordance with the organization's principles and the decisions made by the General Assembly. The Board of Directors also has the overall responsibility for the organization's finances.

It is the Board of Directors that appoints the organization's Secretary General. The Secretary General is responsible for the day-to-day management of the secretariat and the practical responsibility for implementing the board's strategy and policy. The board's work is thus carried out in close collaboration with the Secretary General and the secretariat's other management team.

  • Law, finance and fundraising

Fees

The chairperson is remunerated with DKK 6,000 per month and the vice chairperson is remunerated with DKK 2,000 per month. The other members of the board are unpaid.

The Executive Committee determines the remuneration of the chairperson and vice chairperson. The Board of Directors determines the salary of the secretary general's salary.
